	“Rumbo al Dorado” Association
	“Rumbo al Dorado” is a community enterprise, that was born in 2000-2001 as a result of a social-economic project sponsored by USAID-IRG/Biofor: the aim of the intervention was the promotion of a sustainable usage of biodiversity in fragile ecosystems. Ecotourism was proposed as a complementary source of economic resources and permanent training for local population, offering in the meanwhile consulting facilities in activities management.

	Why “Rumbo al Dorado”?
	We do not offer a stay in a forest lodge but an experience of knowledge and cultural exchange with communities living in a natural environment almost untoched and contribute to its preservation. The main destination of our travel is a wonderful lagoon that inspired the name of our enterprise. So, our “Dorado” is not the gold of ancient conquerors, or the rubber of caucheros, but the experience of meeting biodiversity and nature towards a responsible tourism bringing out human respect and intercultural exchange.
